Krav Maga Haganah Atzmit - Klalee (Self Defense For All Levels)
This is a general self defense class for all levels (Klalee), suitable for both men and women. We concentrate on teaching a few simple techniques in
each class in preparation for putting them into practise in our stress testing/conditioning classes (Meevhanei Ma'amatz)
These are the self-defense moves associated with Krav Maga e.g. striking, grappling, gun, knife, stick defenses etc. We train and drill these
techniques using tried and tested training methods from the military and certain elite sports programs (Gershon Ben Keren has been used as an
advisor/consultant for the UK Olympic Wrestling Team).
If you are thinking of coming to a class for the first time, these are the classes that are the most appropriate to attend.
Meevhanei Ma'amatz (Stress Testing/Conditioning)
In many ways this is the focus of our training. Although all Krav Maga techniques are simple to learn, the decision making process of when to use them
against what attack is perhaps the hardest skill to master. We use a variety of drills and methods to do this, all of which are designed to improve decision
making when tired and stressed.

There ae two areas of decision making: learning what to do and not what to do in a particular situation and learning/deciding on what technique to
use if a physical solution is required. Through a combination of stress testing and scenario based training we are able to equip the student to do this
effectively and efficiently. By teaching OODA Loop training and NDM (naturalistic Decision Making) combined with techniques based on instinctual/reflexive
responses we can develop students extremely quickly.
Imun Cosher Kravi (Israeli Combat Fitness Training)
A key component of any self defense program has to be physical conditioning. If you don't have the gas in the tanks it matters little how many techniques
you know or can do. These classes incorporate sports conditioning and military drills and prepare you both physically and mentally for the
stress testing/conditioning classes (Meevhanei Ma'amatz)
Imun al basis tarhish (Scenario Based Training)
Context is the key to any realistic self defense program: there are times to fight, times to run and times to de-escalate (this is where our SEPS program comes
into its own as it uses tested military decision making processes such as NDM - Naturalistic Decision Making - and academic research from psychologists such as
Mcllelan - Triune Brain Theory). By recreating real-life scenarios and usind Redman simulation suits (Gershon Ben Keren is a certified Redman Scenario Based
Training Instructor), a real understanding of how aggressive and violent situations develop (and can be handled) can be gained.
Eegroof Krav Maga (Striking Workshop)
This is a time dedicated to striking and pad and bag work - our gym is fully equipped with permanent hanging full length bags
Tirgul Lekheemah Krav Maga (Sparring)
Our Sparring sessions aren't restricted to traditional formats: we train with a variety of protective equipment in a variety of ways, incorporating both
standup and groundwork.
Hisardut Karka / Leheema (Ground Survival/Fighting)
Click Here to see an excerpt from Gershon Ben Keren's ground work DVD
Krav Maga ground survival is distinctly different to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and wrestling. In Krav Maga we make 3 assumptions:1) an attacker is never alone, 2)
an attacker is always armed and 3) they are at least as technically competent as the defender. This means the ground is the last place you want to be. Our ground
survival program is comprehensive and teaches chokes, strangulations and joint breaks but from a Krav Maga perspective, with the main aim always to return to a
standing position.
We also spend time looking at armed assaults on the ground; especially those involving knives and other edged weapons. Although a Krav Maga practicioner needs to
understand how to fight and work on the ground they must also understand the situations in which it is appropriate to go to ground and those in which it is not. Unless
an individuals remit involves control and restraint ground fighting should only be instigated by the Krav Maga practiconer as either a last resort or a tactic/strategy
dependant on the situation.
